What is the difference between fenofibrate and atorvastatin?

Atorvastatin:

Atorvastatin calcium tablets belong to reductase inhibitor drugs, which are the third generation of statins with strong lipid-lowering effect and long acting time. They are one of the most commonly used lipid regulating drugs. Statins have similar mechanisms for regulating blood lipids, mainly by inhibiting the rate limiting enzyme of cholesterol synthesis in the liver, so as to reduce cholesterol synthesis and achieve the effect of lowering blood lipids. They have very significant therapeutic effects on diseases such as hyperlipidemia and hypercholesterolemia, so they are widely used in clinical practice.

Fenofibrate:

Fenofibrate is an active metabolite of fenofibrate, which is formed by enzymatic hydrolysis and is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. It solves the effect of eating on the efficacy of fenofibrate, improves the solubility of the drug in the small intestine, makes the absorption more stable, can use fewer doses, and meets the clinical demand for reducing blood fat, with higher safety. The effect of fenofibrate on lowering triglyceride and mixed hyperlipidemia is more obvious than cholesterol, and it is better than statins in treating hypertriglyceridemia and low HDL-C syndrome.
